I live in New York and I’m looking for good vacation ideas in the nearby states. So far, I’ve found farms in New Hampshire and Vermont, but I’ve already been to a farm before. I’ve ruled out Hershey Park, Six Flags and upstate NY. Do you have any ideas for a great, affordable and fun family vacation in a neighboring state? Many thanks to those who respond!

HOW ABOUT PENN..GETTYSBURG..GREAT PLACE..OR D.C. EVEN BETTER…
http://www.TheSkilledTraveler.com suggests taking good old I-95 North. While SW CT is rather industrial, you can see historic and interesting Mystic Village(an old whaling village in Southeastern CT). Then Check out Newport or Narragansett, RI some of the best beaches in the Northeast are right there. If you to Newport, then just go onto scenic and beach/woodsy fun Cape Cod, otherwise continue north and see boston, and finish in Maine. Great food(low price lobster dinners), old fishing village feel, very low cost hotels in Kennebunkport and Kittery. Make sure you check out the Kittery Trading post or LL Bean store in Freeport.
Why limit yourself to the USA? It is so expensive. Come to Guatemala where the weather is nice year round.
I would like Boston, Cape Cod, Niagara Falls, or Acadia National Park in Maine. There are also a few small towns and islands near Acadia, so there’s a lot to do.
