Anyone Have Any Good Vacation Ideas For Me?
Posted by William Lark in Wednesday, October 21st 2009

We live in central Pennsylvania and would like to go someplace different this year. We usually go to Atlantic City every year and then to a beach-either Rehobeth or Long Beach Island. I’m tired of going to the beach and would like to do something different. Instead of 2 mini vacations I would like to take 1 longer vacation. We want to stay in the United States and the closer to PA the better-but no beaches. Any ideas? Thanks guys and gals!!

The first spring break that I spent with my boyfriend was in Alabama. It was in a cabin at Mt. Cheaha (the highest point in Alabama). Unless you get a honeymoon cabin you won’t have TV. That was the best part about our spring break. Nothin’ to do but enjoy eachother and nature. No telephone, no television. (We got a normal cabin.) It had power, a wonderfully modern kitchen, and a fireplace and a modern bathroom.
If you want television (satellite) and a whirlpool jacuzzi reserve the honeymoon cabin.
This place is almost always empty. They have a restaurant on the mountain within walking distance of the cabins and a pool. Also, Talladega Speed Way is right across the valley. (When we stayed, we could see the Talladega lights at night! It was so exciting!) Our cabin was located on the cliffside. So right below us was a gorgeous lake. There were grills outside, too.
I think with the honeymoon cabins you have a screened in porch, too.
Man, it’s just gorgeous. It’s like you’re in the middle of nowhere. You can fish, swim, eat at the restaurant, go into town, watch a race at Talladega, look at the borders of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida through a view finder in a tower (and our initials! look for tb + rp!!!!!!).
I mean, you are really alone–and it is SOOO great.
Here’s the website, it can tell you more. :)
Oh, also, the prices are very very within your price range if you usually go to Atlantic City. I mean, the cabins are maybe $85 a night depending on the cabin you get, and there’s so much quality there.http://www.alapark.com/cheaharesort/
I guarantee that you will NOT be displeased by the breathtaking beauty.
An extra perk is that I think it’s so little known that almost nobody is there. :)
