I Need Some Cheap Vacation Ideas Please Help?
Posted by William Lark in Saturday, November 21st 2009

I am planning to go on vacation on the second week of May. I don’t know where to go. I have a very small budget around 1000 dollars for myself and my husband. I need everything inclusive. I am in SF and want to go somewhere special. We never had our honeymoon so this would be a first trip we will be taking togather after we got married, after two years! Please help. I don’t know where to go and what to book.

Hi SF Bay,
How about a road trip to the Colorado Rocky Mountains? My personal favorite is Breckenridge – it’s a quaint and charming mountain town with beautiful views! The ski resort will be closed so lodging prices will be much cheaper in May (if you rent a condo, you can cook your own meals and not eat out for every meal). There’s a ton of great hiking trails, and Lake Dillon is also nearby so you can rent a small boat. There’s also a lot of shops and restaurants, and they even have horse-drawn carriage rides for a long overdue romantic night for you two. Whatever you end up doing, have a wonderful time!

$1000 dollars for both of you won’t get you guys very far, but maybe you can spend a night at a nice hotel in San Fran or San Diego or somewhere in California because you won’t be able to get plane tickets and a hotel room anywhere for 1000 dollars.
The Four Seasons is a beautiful hotel, and the room start at $475.00 per night and go up from there. So one night at the cheapest price would be $950, leaving you with a little extra money.
Or you could go to Napa Valley and do some of the ever so famous wine tastings, you do not even have to stay over night, but that would be a nice day trip, although I’m not sure how far San Fran is from Napa Valley.
Enjoy your trip!

Go to Las Vegas. My wife’s son got a round trip flight from San Diego and hotel room for 4 days for less than $250. You have to stay there from Monday through Thursday to get that kind of deal. But, they’re bending over backwards to attract people to vacation out there. And, there’s so much to do and see that you don’t have to gamble to enjoy Las Vegas. Or, if you prefer Reno, they might be running some similar specials there, too.

Ooooo I agree to check out http://www.BigDealGetaways.com. I have also booked through them – we got an all inclusive caribbean vacation & used a companion airfare we got for free just for buying a pakcage online.
We have also checked craigslist for some good package deals for weekend getaways before, but you have to watch out for scams! Also a weekend isn’t much of a honeymoon. I agree you should check that site for the best deals – pretty much anywhere is affordable thru them! Good luck!

Do what I did – go to http://www.BigDealGetaways.com. You can get a 5 day Vacation in Honolulu/Waikiki area & stay at a 4 star resort for just $399. You get a Companion airfare pass for free too, which was a huge savings for us.
They have a ton of other options too though, like all inclusive resorts in Mexico or Bahamas – check out the site – you will not find better deals anywhere online I promise.
All those other sites like Hotwire or Priceline are the same site with different domains – check this site & you’ll be glad you did!
