Do You Have Any Good Vacation Ideas For Northern Ohio?
Posted by William Lark in Tuesday, November 24th 2009

We’d like to stay at a few places so we can do as much as possible in the area. Maybe stay for a couple of days in a nice place within 30 minutes from Cedar Point, but then go somewhere else for a more secluded get-away. I’m interested in all sorts of attractions–from lake activities to bike riding to great food. I understand there’s an amish country in northern Ohio but I’m not sure exactly where. ANY and ALL ideas are welcome–don’t feel you have to stick with the things I’ve mentioned. This is for a husband/wife get-away week when the weather is nice. Thanks!

in Toledo: Toledo Zoo, the MiniZoo (on Angola Rd), Mud Hens baseball game
other cities: Windsor, Ontario; Cleveland
not much else to do in Ohio besides Cedar Point and Kings Island, it’s a pretty boring state

amish country would be sugarcreek, millersburg and are about
1.5 – 2hrs south of sandusky (cedar point)…six flags in also close to cedar point and if you’re into wineries you’re about 30 minutes from port clinton oh which has numerous wineries, lighthouses and lake activities you can enjoy…have fun!

South East Michigan is full of cool stuff, especially if you’re into boating and being out on the lake.

Put-in-Bay opens in April and is basically a vacation island in Lake Erie. Here’s the website http://www.putinbay.com/
