After you have spent a fortune planning your wedding, it can be hard to set aside much money for what comes next – the honeymoon. It can cost thousands for a luxury vacation, but the truth is that your honeymoon can be as expensive as you want it. Though some newlyweds may spend thousands on a trip across Europe, you could also choose something as simple as a long weekend staying in a B&B. The most important thing is that you get to spend some time alone with your new husband or wife, as well as relaxing and connecting. Here are some tips that will help you save money whilst still letting you get the best out of your honeymoon.

Careful Research: Research is top of the list because this can really save you money in the long run. Many people focus primarily on the planning of their wedding and forget about their honeymoon. Whilst this is understandable, as soon as you have set a wedding date you should try to keep an eye out for any great deals in the lead up to the big day. Buy newspapers or travel magazines to make sure you learn of any offers, and this will also give you time to compare the deals from different agents.

Off-Season: You should also carefully consider when you want to go away for your honeymoon. Travelling off-season will make your trip a lot cheaper, and this will not necessarily mean the weather will be bad. For example, you could choose to visit a tropical destination that has good weather all year round. The most popular, and therefore most expensive, time to visit these destinations is when the weather is cold at home, but going off-season can really save you money. If there is a particular place you want to visit then try to be flexible about when you can go, but if you do not mind where you go then choose somewhere off-season.

Credit Card Rewards: These can often help you to save money on your honeymoon by rewarding those who travel frequently. If you have a good enough credit score you can take out a credit card using one of these schemes, which will pay you points according to any wedding expenses that you may charge to the card. Once you start getting your points you can exchange them for tickets, hotel rooms, upgrades and other holiday essentials. This can be a great way to save; just make sure that you are in a financially stable position to be able to pay it off quickly when the bill comes through.

Expert Advice: When planning your honeymoon, expert advice can really help you to get the biggest savings. Visit the travel agents who will let you know about any last-minute deals or ongoing sales for honeymoon vacations. They will often try to help you as much s possible in saving you money and finding you the best package available within your budget.

Other Help: As well as making savings as above, you could consider setting up a honeymoon register that will allow your wedding guests to contribute toward your honeymoon expenses, or specific activities, instead of buying gifts. This can be a great idea, with some honeymoon gifts including scuba diving and other exciting activities.

As mentioned above, you can try to find ways to save that involve not going on your average honeymoon holiday. Compare all of the advantages and disadvantages of your honeymoon options. For example, bed and breakfasts can be extremely romantic, but less private than you may have hoped for. All-inclusive packages can take away from your worries by offering a flat rate for all food and so on. The best thing to do is to compare all your choices and take some time and careful research to decide which one is the best for you. If you follow all of these instructions then you will soon see that it really is possible to have a great honeymoon on a budget.

Are you in the process of planning your wedding? If so, a point will come when you start to focus on the honeymoon. After planning the wedding of your dreams, your honeymoon budget may be tight. Does that mean you need to stay close to home? Do you need to forego your dream of a Caribbean honeymoon? No. Thanks to Jamaica travel deals and discounts, as well as easy to implement cost saving measures, you can easily have the honeymoon that fairytales are made of on the beautiful island of Jamaica. How?

Travel during the workweek. Your first thought may be to leave your wedding reception and hop on a plane to Jamaica. You may have also intended to miss as little work as possible. Your wedding is likely on a Saturday or Sunday. Should you depart right away, you will be right in the middle of the busy travel weekend. Why not spend a few days at home and depart on Tuesday or Wednesday? There are no guarantees, but you may be able to reduce the cost of your airfare by $100 or more.

Choose your travel dates and times carefully. If waiting three days to depart for your honeymoon wasn’t what you had in mind, at least experiment with times. Would it be cheaper to fly Saturday night, Sunday morning, or Sunday afternoon? Although the flights are close in time, you may be surprised to see a price difference. If booking your airline reservations separately and not in the form of a honeymoon travel package, play around and find the cheapest option.

Examine all-inclusive resorts. These resorts are popular on the island of Jamaica. They are ideal for saving both money and time. With a stay at an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, you should get a room, food, drinks, tips, snacks, airport transfers, and onsite entertainment. One big travel arrangement preplans and prepays for most of your trip. Better yet, you are usually rewarded with a moneysaving discount.

Choose an all-inclusive resort with many inclusions. As previously stated, all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica are popular. You have many to choose from. Since you are on a budget, you want to get the best value for your money. Remember, the cost of your stay should include most forms of onsite entertainment, like the equipment needed for scuba diving or windsurfing. If you wanted to try these activities, you can do them right at your resort without paying extra. Save your money and opt for all-inclusive Jamaica resorts with a long list of inclusions and inclusions you will use.

Plan to return back to your resort for dinner each night. Although you never have to leave the resort to have a good time, you will want to get out and explore the beautiful island of Jamaica. You may go sightseeing, make reservations for a boat tour, and so forth. Unless breakfast, lunch, or dinner, is included in the cost of special tours, try to return to your resort. The cost of food and drinks was included in with your stay. Eating at a nearby restaurant is fine once or twice night, but you are essentially buying dinner twice. The best way to save money on a budgeted honeymoon to Jamaica is to make use of what your all-inclusive resort has available, including food and drinks.

Compare prices to find the best deals off your resort property. As previously stated, many Caribbean honeymooners want to get out and explore. If you do too, do a little bit of research first. Use the internet to learn about nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours. The internet allows you to examine and price compare your options. Stay close to your all-inclusive resort to keep travel costs low. Once again and it cannot be stressed enough, don’t pay for something your resort included in with the cost of your stay. Scuba diving tours sound nice, but consider the added costs. If your resort offers scuba diving and you already paid for it, save your money!

The above mentioned steps are just a few of the many ways that you can reduce the cost of a Jamaica honeymoon. If you are on a budget, the high cost of an all-inclusive resort may get you down. Don’t let it. Think long-term and the best value. To save the most money and to have a stress-free trip, make your honeymoon an all-inclusive honeymoon. You will be glad you did.

Do you want the Caribbean honeymoon that fairytales are made of? Breezes and Super Clubs can make your dream come true. Examine their large selection of luxury, yet affordable all-inclusive resorts today.

Arranging a wedding can be awfully stressfull and leave you with little money to spend on your honeymoon. You honeymoon should be one of the most memorable trips of your life and you do not need to short change your experience because absence of funds. Read below on how to economize for your honeymoon so you may have the trip of your dreams.

1. Start with a Budget

The first step is to put together a budget of what you can realisitly spend on your honeymoon. Be precise with guess costs for hostels, food, activities and anything else you plan on doing.

2. Sacrifice

It may not be fun now but sacrificing now will enable you to have fun later. This can mean watching a DVD at home instead of going to the flicks. Cutting down on services or subscriptions ( cell phone, wire, facials, manicures, etc ). The little sacrifices add up quickly in your vacation fund.

3. Brown Bag it

Let’s face it, we all like to eat out. As good as it could be it does a job on our savings. The average couple spends $300 per month on eating out. That’s money that would easily be put into your honeymoon fund by eating out less or bringing a bag lunch to work. If you’ve got a tough time giving up eating use vouchers or check out local deals. ( buy one get one free dinners ).

4. EBay

a great way to start your new life together is out with the old and in with the new, why don’t you make money cleaning out your stuff. EBay has become the ultimate site to sell your possessions and earn cash. If you do not want to deal with the trouble of eBay there is always the old fashion way, a garage sale.

5. Reward Cards

Reward cards are a good way to let visa cards pay you back. In the months prior to your wedding, use a Visa card that amasses points ( most well-liked are cash or travel rewards ) for everything you can. It should not be tricky to quickly accumulate points with all your marriage expenses. Once the reward points have piled up you can cash them in for plane tickets, hotel rooms, gift certificates or cash.

While some couples may dream of traveling far, far away to an exotic island for their dream honeymoon, that just might not be possible in today’s economy. A lot of newlyweds-to-be are looking for cheap affordable honeymoons that will still provide them time to get away and enjoy each other without breaking their bank. Well here are some tips for shopping around for a five star honeymoon on a two star budget.

Stay in the U.S. If you are getting married in the United States, you might consider visiting on of the beautiful resorts that are located in Florida or maybe stay in a log cabin on a wild horse ranch in North Dakota. There are just so many great ideas here at home that you don’t have to take a cruise or splurge on a fancy resort in the Bahamas to get the relaxation that you need. Consider traveling in the off-season. Even if that means you have to postpone your honeymoon for a month or two, you will be amazed at how much you will save if you are willing to wait. This is a great idea for couples that are determined to honeymoon in places like Mexico or the Bahamas. You can call the resort you are considering and ask them when their off-season is, so that you can plan to book your honeymoon around that time. Have people donate to your honeymoon as a wedding gift! This a great idea for couples who want to go somewhere above their budget and it’s a creative and easy wedding gift for those who hate trying to figure out the registries at local department stores. If you use a travel agent, you might ask how your wedding guests can give a monetary gift that can go towards your honeymoon. They will probably be able to set you up with a toll-free number people can call or arrange for guests to come by their office to make the donation and pick up some kind of “receipt” they can place in a card to give you on your wedding day. Shop the deals! You can search for your honeymoon last minute, which might save you some money, or you can travel during the week instead of over the weekend, which may save you on your flight. There are so many great deals out there if you are willing to put in the time and search for them. Ask if anyone in your family has a timeshare they would be willing to let you use as a wedding gift. This is a popular option for many young couples and is actually a surprisingly common way of taking your honeymoon. Maybe your great aunt, grandparents, or even your parents have a timeshare, which gives them access to hundreds of resorts all over the world. Don’t be afraid to pipe up and see if they’d be willing to let you use it. All-inclusive resorts are definitely the best way to get the most bang for your buck. For a set price you usually get your room and all your meals, which will save you considerably in the long run. Some all-inclusive resorts even include your alcohol! Just do some shopping around to see what kinds of deals and prices you are looking at for your honeymoon destination. Don’t overlook a cruise which is a lot like an all-inclusive resort, only you get the luxury of visiting more than one destination and they are surprisingly affordable! If you are your honey like the great outdoors, why not consider a camping honeymoon. Camping is an affordable way to get out and enjoy each other and a beautiful location. Just be warned that especially if you camp without a place to shower you are going to get to know each other a little better than maybe you want to for your first week of marriage. If that kind of stuff doesn’t bother you, than by all means, don’t be afraid to enjoy this cheap honeymoon option.

Can you get a job over the summer while traveling? There are plenty around and many aimed at travelers specifically. Organize your work permit and check out the local paper for jobs for travelers. You’ll be amazed at what kind of work you can find to do.

1. You could become an au pair or nanny. There are many opportunities to look after people’s other kids while traveling. Try England, South Africa or Australia for starters.

2. You could teach English. In a number of countries there are opportunities for English teachers. If you are bilingual you’ll have a much better chance of scoring one of these jobs in places like Japan.

3. How about working in a pub? In England there are opportunities for free board in pubs where you are prepared to pull a beer. Hospitality jobs are relatively easy to come by in Australia.

4. Have you ever considered working at children’s holiday camps in the USA or Russia as a camp counselor?

5. You could become a fruit picker! Get to work in the fields all over the world.

6. What about a winter holiday job? Can you ski? You can get jobs as ski or snowboard instructors in many ski resorts all over the globe.

7. How about becoming a Jack or Jillaroo on an outback station in Australia? Immerse yourself in the culture of the outback.

8. Is there work available at the hostel you are staying at? It won’t hurt to ask. Sometimes you can exchange work for free food and board or at least a reduction in the price.

Apart from paid positions, you can also get volunteer work in many places. Volunteering your services can get you free food and board. How about volunteering on a farm? Or being a hike trail or tourist guide volunteer? You’ll get to see the sights for free.

For those of you who may be looking for a more serious work/travel experience there are other opportunities. For example, can you get a transfer with your current job to an overseas position? Or do you want to do something worthwhile in your gap year? Programs are available for students to travel in their gap year and get involved in some amazing projects all over the world. You could work in the publishing industry in India or teach children with special needs. There are many organizations set up to help place people who want to broaden their horizons by volunteering their services in foreign countries.

If you think working or volunteering while you are traveling would be a possibility for you, make sure you find out if you need work permits to do so. Using your skills while traveling is a great way to save money and meet people. You’ll be rewarded in many ways.

Well you won’t be traveling to Monaco and staying at a five star resort on a budget, will you? Maybe so! Mostly, traveling on a budget means finding the cheapest price for the experience you want.

When traveling on a budget it’s best to keep in mind the following points:

1. Travel in the off-peak seasons. You can save up to as much as fifty per cent off air flights and accommodation costs if you plan to travel in low season times.

2. Stay away from popular tourist spots (unless they are on your ‘must-see’ list). If you can go off the beaten track with your destinations, things can be cheaper to see and do and your cultural experiences will be richer.

3. Try camping. Not only is it the cheapest form of accommodation it’s a great way to get up close and personal to nature. It’s the best way to see National Parks and Heritage listed areas.

4. Look for special travel offers (or packages). But make sure you check everything that they include – and don’t include.

5. Invest in a travel pass where you are able. Most developed countries have a rail or bus transport system where you can obtain day, week or monthly passes that will get you around cheaply.

6. Get a work permit if you aim to gain employment while traveling overseas. Working can help subsidize places that aren’t so cheap, such as Europe and Australia.

7. Look for good exchange rates on the dollar. This may help you decide which country to travel to.

8. Think about shortening your visit to destinations that are expensive and increasing your length of stay in cheaper places.

9. Where possible use your credit card. The exchange rate is better.

10. When staying in a hotel, avoid paying for ‘extras’. Don’t touch anything from the honor bar. Don’t watch the in-house movies and don’t use the hotel phone. And try not to use room service too much!

On the world scene there are some great places to travel on a budget for under thirty dollars a day. In Asia you can try India, Laos, China, Cambodia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Thailand, Sumatra and Burma. In Central and South America you can visit El Salvador, Bolivia and Ecuador. If you are after a budget experience in the Pacific, try Fiji or New Zealand. Over in Africa there are some great budget destinations such as Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, Malawi, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Ghana. Don’t forget the Middle East where places like Iran, Syria and Turkey provide excellent value for money and wonderful experiences for the budget traveler.

There is no ‘best place’ to travel on a budget. Just be prepared to look around, avoid the pitfalls of unwanted costs in package deals or hotel bookings. If you want to travel and your budget doesn’t meet your expectations, be flexible and see if there is somewhere cheaper you might like to experience. You could be pleasantly surprised with your stay in India or Iran, when you thought you wanted to go to Tahiti.

One you can afford – seriously.

Look at how much you earn. What can you put aside for a trip? What are you prepared to sacrifice to make your trip a reality? Maybe you’ve been saving for a while and have a few thousand dollars in the bank. You do? Great. Well that’s your realistic budget. If you want to fly to Europe tomorrow and you only have ten dollars in the bank then you are not being realistic. But it might be enough to get you in to the local museum for a few hours escape.

When you are setting your budget, be practical. Everyone has different needs for their travel experience and if your travel plans include overseas flights, you will need to budget accordingly. Sure you can find great deals and get there cheaper than you might have expected, but make sure you have enough money in your budget to not only get you there but to travel around, find a place to sleep, oh and have enough money to be able to eat!

So how do you go about setting a budget? Following these steps might help:

1. Draw up a table with two columns.

2. Column A is for Expense Items. Column B is for Approximate Costs.

3. In column A write down all the things you can think of that will cost you money while traveling. These might include: air flights, car hire/fuel allowance, travel passes, sight-seeing tours, accommodation, food, insurance, immunizations, and souvenirs.

4. In column B write an estimate of how much you think these things will cost while on your trip. You can research your travel costs quite easily on the Internet. Food allowance might be a bit more difficult. If you are traveling alone, as a couple or in a family you will need to budget food costs accordingly.

5. Now add up the costs. This will give you an estimate of how much your trip will cost. Can you afford it? Yes – then this is a realistic budget for you. If not, then you may have to rethink your destination and the type of travel experience you want.

Remember that this table will only be an estimate of your travel costs. You must also budget for incidentals and prepare yourself for things to not go to plan. For example, have you got enough money in your budget to buy new clothes if your luggage goes missing? A realistic travel budget will have extra built in to it to cover emergencies. Setting yourself a budget of about sixty-five dollars a day, if traveling alone, is a reasonable amount. If you are traveling as a family or in a group, this number will be vastly different.

Also consider if you will be traveling and working. If this is the case, then you may not need as much to start with, just enough money to get you to your destination and a place to live while you look for work. (And enough money to buy you food until you begin earning a wage.)

Start making your travel plans with your budget in mind. Don’t exceed your budget, always keep a little in reserve so you can buy that fantastic Italian leather handbag or go jet-skiing in Hawaii if the desire takes you!

Of course you can travel just about anywhere with your kids on a budget. Like any travel experience on a budget you need to research and plan well to make the most of your travel dollar. Many places, however, are family or kid friendly and will throw in added extras for the children. So whether you intend traveling at home or abroad, look for places that will cater to your family’s needs.

RV trips are a great way to travel on a budget. In fact, traveling with a car is almost essential for families. It is usually cheaper than buying rail passes or catching taxis everywhere. But more importantly, it gives you that ‘door to door’ freedom that is necessary when traveling with kids.

If you are traveling overseas, have you considered staying in a hostel with your family? This is a much cheaper option than staying in hotels and many hostels are family friendly and have no age limit (except in Bavaria where you can’t be older than twenty six). You can request a room with enough bunk beds to accommodate your family and you can cook your meals in the communal kitchen. Huge savings to be made!

In the USA there are many places to travel with your family on a budget. Consider these options:

1. Camping. The cheapest option around for any travel adventure. Many campsites have activities for kids and if you don’t like the idea of staying in a tent, many places have cabins to rent that are still cheaper than a hotel room. Camping gets you up close and personal with nature and gets the kids outside and running around.

2. What about spending some time at a Working Farm or Dude Ranch? Look around for reasonably priced holidays at these destinations and you will find plenty of activities and atmosphere for kids and adults alike.

3. Head to Disneyland in off peak season for big savings.

4. The same can be said for traveling to Hawaii. Check the packages available in low season and see how affordable it is.

5. You’ll also find some excellent deals in traveling to Mexico. Go for all-inclusive resorts, especially in the low season.

What about if you want to travel overseas? Where are some good places to take the kids on a budget?

* Although Australia is a long way away and can be a bit pricey to get there, it is a very child-friendly place with lots of cost saving adventures to be had for the kids. Australian off peak is different from North America so do some research.

* Europe can be done on a budget with kids. Pick your destinations with the kids in mind. Get them involved in your itinerary. Stay in hostels and travel by car. You’ll be amazed at how much you save and how much you see.

* Some island resorts are very child friendly. In Fiji there are resorts where children under twelve stay and eat for free. Do your research!

* How about a family cruise? Cruises are great because they are all-inclusive, cater for families and you get to explore lots of places. There are some good family package deals to be found with most cruise companies.

So get planning and get packed. Plan your family vacation and check out the deals available. Going off peak is the best way to save money. If you are going to take the kids out of school buy them a journal so they can record their experiences. It’s amazing how much they’ll learn by traveling with their family.
